This Privacy Policy describes how Aplexity Limited ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the TV Remo mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
AI Chat Input. Any text, prompts, or messages you submit to the in-app AI assistant.
Support Requests. Contact information and message content when you reach out to us.
Purchase Information. Subscription and transaction data processed by Apple (we do not receive your full payment details).
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device Information. Device model, iOS version, language, region, and unique device identifiers (IDFA/IDFV where permitted).
Usage Data. Feature interactions, session duration, crash logs, and diagnostics.
Network Data (Remote Control). Local network metadata (e.g., Bonjour/mDNS discovery of TV devices) used solely to connect your phone to your TV. This data stays on your local network and is not transmitted to us.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
Analytics & Attribution. We use Firebase, AppsFlyer, and similar SDKs to measure app performance and attribution.
Subscription Management. We use RevenueCat (or equivalent) to manage in-app subscriptions.
2. Use of the OpenAI API (AI Chat)
The AI Chat feature is powered by the OpenAI API.
Your chat prompts are transmitted to OpenAI for the sole purpose of generating a response.
We do not use your chat content to train AI models. Per OpenAI's API policy, API inputs are not used to train their models by default.
Do not submit sensitive personal data (passwords, financial details, health information, government IDs, etc.) to the AI Chat.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
Operate core features (TV discovery, remote control, AI chat);
Process subscriptions and purchases;
Improve performance, fix bugs, and prevent abuse;
Measure marketing and attribution;
Comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal Bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)
Where applicable, we process personal data on the basis of: (a) performance of a contract, (b) our legitimate interests (product improvement, security), (c) your consent (where required, e.g., tracking), and (d) legal compliance.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
Service providers — OpenAI, Firebase (Google), AppsFlyer, RevenueCat, Apple, and cloud infrastructure providers, strictly to deliver the App's functionality.
Legal authorities — when required by law.
Successors — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law. Diagnostics and analytics are typically retained for up to 24 months. AI Chat prompts sent to OpenAI are handled per OpenAI's retention policy.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (EEA, UK, California, etc.), you may have the right to:
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls). No method of transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App or via the App Store listing. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
